ZISR-18 type intrinsically safe redundant power supply

The redundant power supply is used to power intrinsically safe circuits from two independent power sources, providing separation between them and the intrinsically safe output. It ensures correct operation when powered from any supply, however, when powered from both supplies, the power consumed is divided between both supply supplies.

- no "switching" effect when turning off one of the power sources
- wide range of output voltage and current configuration options,
- output of the power supply of the "ib" category, supplied with voltage of 42VAC to 250VAC,
- considerable resistance to mechanical damage, momentary voltage increases, output short circuit and overheating,
- LCD display informing about the current operating parameters of the power supply,
- relays confirming the drain activation and an RS-485 communication connector.
The design of the ZISR-18 power supplies is based on proven solutions used in the well-known and proven ZISD-15 power supply family. The ZISR-18 power supply housing houses two independent power blocks.
The power supply ensures correct operation when powered from any supply. When powered from both supplies, the power drawn is divided between both supply sources. Thanks to this, when the voltage drops on one of the supplies, the power supply smoothly switches to drawing power from the other supply source. The intrinsically safe supply can be equipped with one of the following power modules:

* - applies to cables with a cross-section of up to 2 x 4mm2.
This solution provides a wide range of configuration options and thus adapts the device to specific applications. An example application is powering devices that require sustained operation, e.g. by powering from two independent sources. Great emphasis has been placed on maximizing resistance to damage, both mechanical and from the power supply network. The power supply works correctly at voltages in the range of 42÷250 VAC. Additionally, it is resistant to momentary voltage increases occurring, e.g. when switching off the main receivers. Each power supply module has thermal and short-circuit protection. The power supplies are available in two versions: with a communication module and without a communication module. The version with a communication module has:
- relay outputs confirming correct operation of the drain,
- RS-485 serial communication connector enabling data transfer for visualization,
- LCD display showing the outgoing voltage and current, the mains voltage on each side of the inflow and the current time,
- two two-colour LEDs located on the front panel, indicating the operating status (green – correct operation, red – overload/fault).
