EFI-CON-13

Module EFI-CON-13 acts as a converter of data sent via various communication standards. It can be used as:
- RS-232/422/485 serial port server with Ethernet output via twisted pair or optical fiber,
- Ethernet medium converter from twisted copper to single-mode fiber optic – communication can be carried out using a pair of fibers or a single fiber (depending on the version),
- a device that implements a redundant Ethernet network connection (ring) based on available Ethernet interfaces.
The module can be used as an accompanying device with "op is" fiber optic outputs (version 2) or as an intrinsically safe device (version 1).
It is a configurable module, equipped with an RJ45 connector, SC fiber optic connector and five RS serial connectors (3x RS-485, 1x RS-232/422, 1x RS-232). It allows you to connect devices equipped with serial connectors to the Ethernet network. Additionally, it allows you to create a RING network. The operating mode is configured from a web browser.
- intrinsically safe design – all connectors are intrinsically safe,
- standard construction – only the fiber optic connectors are intrinsically safe.
The EFI-CON-13 (or EFI-CON-13/B) module is a module used to convert the Ethernet standard (100Base-TX or 100Base-FX) to serial transmission in the RS-485, RS-422 or RS-232 standard. It can also act as a transmission medium converter between the 100Base-TX and 100Base-FX Ethernet standards. Appropriate design enables two-way fiber optic communication using two single-mode fibers as well as using a single single-mode fiber, on two different electromagnetic wavelengths.
The module is equipped with a single RJ45 Ethernet connector, a single SC fiber optic connector and a Combicon connector with the following interfaces:
- three RS-485 interfaces – two-wire,
- one RS-485/RS-422 interface – four-wire,
- one RS-232 interface – three-wire.
